LMBC BEER REVIEW – Piñata

Jim Strelau, LMBC Brewmaster

I’ve always loved spicy food, especially Roasted Hatch Green Chilis.  When I experienced my first Chili Beer in Denver back in 1998, I was hooked.  Living in Arizona for 15 years only strengthened my love for Chilis. When I moved back to Cincinnati to open LMBC back in 2017, I knew I wanted to brew one.  To my surprise, it’s a huge seller for us here in Milford, Ohio. Who knew?! It has the flavor of Fire-Roasted Green Chili without being too over-the-top in the heat department. I could make it way hotter, but then you couldn’t drink much.   It’s more of a Session Beer with low Hop Bitterness and Alcohol, but with lots of flavor. Cheers!

LMBC BEER REVIEW – St. James Irish Stout

Jim Strelau, LMBC Brewmaster

We’ve brewed an Irish Dry Stout that is deceptively light and drinkable. Named after the original brewery site of Guinness, St. James Gate. Despite the dark color from the Roasted Barley, it’s a very light style of beer that ferments most of the sugar out, hence the “dry” moniker. You get a Chocolaty, Coffee flavor without all the heaviness of most stouts out there. Ironically, before stout was a beer style on its own, the English would call their high-gravity porters “Stout Porter”. People liked them and it just became Stout.
Little Miami Brewing will be your St. Patrick’s Day Headquarters with this beer on tap along with Green Beer and Irish Car Bombs, if you dare. Cheers!
