LMBC BEER REVIEW – St. James Irish Stout
Jim Strelau, LMBC Brewmaster
We’ve brewed an Irish Dry Stout that is deceptively light and drinkable. Named after the original brewery site of Guinness, St. James Gate. Despite the dark color from the Roasted Barley, it’s a very light style of beer that ferments most of the sugar out, hence the “dry” moniker. You get a Chocolaty, Coffee flavor without all the heaviness of most stouts out there. Ironically, before stout was a beer style on its own, the English would call their high-gravity porters “Stout Porter”. People liked them and it just became Stout.
Little Miami Brewing will be your St. Patrick’s Day Headquarters with this beer on tap along with Green Beer and Irish Car Bombs, if you dare. Cheers!

LMBC BEER REVIEW – Misty Mountain Hop IPA
Jim Strelau, LMBC Brewmaster
Some brewers innovate, some replicate.
This beer is a “tip of the cap” to an Eastern Ohio brewery making a certain IPA the owners of Little Miami Brewing Company really liked. So, the brewers here have reverse-engineered this beer and made a clone of this fan favorite.
Using Simcoe, Citra, and CTZ Hops, I think we nailed it. The Grain bill utilized Pale Ale Malt and Malted White Wheat to dial in the body and mouthfeel of this IPA. Misty Mountain Hop IPA is named in honor of the legendary song and similar sounding beer name of an un-named brewery. Cheers!
