LMBC BEER REVIEW – St. James Irish Stout
Jim Strelau, LMBC Brewmaster
We’ve brewed an Irish Dry Stout that is deceptively light and drinkable. Named after the original brewery site of Guinness, St. James Gate. Despite the dark color from the Roasted Barley, it’s a very light style of beer that ferments most of the sugar out, hence the “dry” moniker. You get a Chocolaty, Coffee flavor without all the heaviness of most stouts out there. Ironically, before stout was a beer style on its own, the English would call their high-gravity porters “Stout Porter”. People liked them and it just became Stout.
Little Miami Brewing will be your St. Patrick’s Day Headquarters with this beer on tap along with Green Beer and Irish Car Bombs, if you dare. Cheers!
